Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 12, 2026

Drop Your Puck LLC ("Drop Your Puck," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Drop Your Puck platform, which connects hockey trainers with parents and players. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our website and services.

By using Drop Your Puck, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Name, email address, phone number, and password when you create an account
  • Profile information such as your role, rink, location, specialties, bio, credentials, and profile photo (trainers)
  • Media uploads including training photos and videos (trainers)
  • Player information such as age group and position (parents/players)
  • Booking details including preferred session dates and messages to trainers
  • Payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we never store card numbers)

Information collected automatically:

  • Browser type and device information
  • Pages visited, features used, and time spent on the platform
  • IP address and approximate location
  • Usage analytics collected via Google Analytics (see Section 3)

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account
  • To display trainer profiles to parents and players searching for sessions
  • To process booking requests and payments
  • To send booking confirmations, verification codes, and account-related emails
  • To send push notifications about bookings and messages (if you opt in)
  • To improve the platform and understand how it is used
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of these Terms
  • To comply with legal obligations

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these limited circumstances:

  • Stripe: Payment processing. Stripe collects and processes all payment card data under their own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy).
  • Supabase: Secure cloud database that stores account, profile, and booking data with encryption at rest and in transit.
  • Resend: Used to send account verification emails, booking notifications, and transactional messages.
  • Google Maps & Google Analytics: Google Maps is used to display trainer locations on the map. Google Analytics is used to understand how visitors use the platform. Google may collect usage data per their privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). You can opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Public trainer profiles: Information you add to your trainer profile (name, role, rink, location, specialties, bio, photo, and media) is visible to anyone visiting the marketplace.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.

4. Push Notifications

If you opt in to push notifications, we store a browser push subscription token associated with your account to deliver booking and message alerts. You can revoke notification permission at any time through your browser settings. Removing permission will disable future notifications but will not affect your account.

5. Data Storage & Retention

Account and profile data is stored securely in Supabase. Payment data is stored and managed by Stripe — we do not store full card numbers or sensitive payment details on our servers.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, your personal information will be removed within 30 days. Booking records and payment history may be retained for up to 7 years for legal and accounting purposes.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser session storage and local storage to keep you logged in during your visit and to remember your preferences (such as your last-viewed dashboard tab). We use Google Analytics cookies to measure platform usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or sell data to ad networks.

7. Children's Privacy

Drop Your Puck is intended for use by adults (trainers, parents, and legal guardians). Accounts must be created by someone aged 18 or older. Player information (such as age group and position) is submitted by a parent or guardian on behalf of their child — we do not collect this information directly from minors and do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts.

If you believe a child has provided personal information without parental consent, contact us immediately at dropyourpuck@gmail.com and we will remove it promptly.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information via your account dashboard
  • Delete your account and associated data — use the delete option in Settings or email us
  • Opt out of push notifications through your browser settings
  • Opt out of Google Analytics using the browser opt-out tool

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at dropyourpuck@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Security

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information, including encrypted database storage, secure HTTPS connections, and Stripe's PCI-DSS compliant payment infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
